Popping Shells and Stealing Flags at RWTH Aachen University

About Us

We are a group of RWTH students interested in IT-security, who came together in early 2024 to form a CTF team. Since then, we have been expanding our community and competed in various CTFs, mostly casually.

We are organized as part of the Fachschaft I/1 Maths/Physics/Computer Science and receive support from the Research Group IT-Security at RWTH Aachen University. Of course, anyone who is studying any other subject is just as welcome, but you must be enrolled at RWTH Aachen University!

What is a CTF?

Capture-the-flag (CTF) competitions consist of a number of challenges in different categories, such as cryptography, reverse engineering, web security, binary exploitation, and more. Usually, the goal is to find and exploit vulnerabilities in software that is intentionally vulnerable. More on Wikipedia

Join Us!

No matter if you’re only curious to learn practical skills in IT-security, you’re an experienced CTF player or you’re just looking for a fun community, we’re happy to have you join us! The only requirement is that you’re enrolled at RWTH Aachen University.

We are currently doing bi-weekly meetups and play a CTF about once a month. We are primarily using Discord for communication. It’s also where you find all up-to-date announcements. You can find the link on the main page. The best way to get started is to come to an in-person CTF event, which we usually announce on Discord a few weeks in advance. You can also reach out to us via email at echo 'dGVhbUBwd24tbGEtY2hhcGVsbGUuZXU=' | base64 -d.
